Start with the question you want to answer
Describe the building, location and reason for the inspection. You may need a visual record before maintenance, images of a chimney or a general overview for a roofing contractor.
The number of buildings, roof layout and surrounding property affect the assignment. Existing images can help plan the work.
The location is assessed before confirmation
Airspace, restrictions, nearby airports, obstacles and people on the ground must be considered. Weather also matters. Not every address or requested viewpoint can be flown.
Access, a suitable launch area and the customer contact are agreed in advance. You may not need to be present for some external documentation assignments, subject to agreement.
Visible surfaces are documented
The flight can document roof surfaces, ridges, metalwork, chimneys, penetrations and visible damage. Gutters may be recorded where access and visibility allow.
A drone inspection records visible conditions. It does not replace a full building survey and cannot assess concealed layers or prove that a roof is watertight.
Delivery and follow-up
The agreed package determines whether you receive images or a structured report. Clear image references make it easier to discuss observations with a specialist and compare conditions over time.
If dissemination permission is required, that process can affect delivery for public use. The delivery scope and timing should be confirmed before the assignment.
